The Perthshire Art Association Award 2017

July 31st, 2017 by Robin Rodger

We are delighted to announce BRUCE SHAW as the winner of The Perthshire Art Association Award 2017.

Born in Perth, Bruce worked in industry before turning to art and graduated as a mature student from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, in 2009. A pair of etched prints of Scottish mountainous landscape clinched the prize for Bruce at the Royal Scottish Academy’s Open Exhibition, which opened on 21 July.

The cash prize is designed to assist the winner in preparing work for the Association’s Annual Exhibition, in which they will feature as our invited artist.

For the second year running the Award has been generously enhanced by the Jimmie Cairncross Charitable Trust. We are extremely grateful to the Trustees for their support of this initiative and look forward to seeing Bruce’s work hanging in December.

The Perthshire Art Association Annual Award was instituted in 2016 with Gray’s School of Art graduate Laura Porteous from Scone being┬áthe inaugural winner.

The PAA Annual Exhibition will be held in Perth Museum and Art Gallery from 1-16 December 2017.
