August 17th, 2013 by Donald Fletcher

It gives the Perthshire Art Association great pleasure in announcing that its new Patron is Arthur Watson PRSA.  Based in Perth, Arthur is the current President of The Royal Scottish Academy and he is also the Course Director of Fine Art at the Duncan Jordanstone College of Art and Design at Dundee University. A major figure in the Scottish art world, he is a distinguished artist whose work has been shown widely throughout Scotland and internationally. Arthur has had a distinguished academic career and has played an important role in research development within fine art. He has been a visiting lecturer, assessor and advisor at many institutions here and abroad.

Once again the PAA Annual Exhibition will be held in the Perth Museum and Art Gallery from 16 November to 14 December.  There will be a private reception in the Gallery on the evening of Friday 15th November when their new Patron, Arthur Watson has kindly agreed to formally open the Exhibition.  The Association is also delighted that the guest artist at their Exhibition this year will be Derek Robertson; one of the country’s foremost wildlife and landscape artists and winner of the ‘Visions of Nature’ award this in year’s BBC Artist of the Year Competition.
